1. verb: to divide or fork into two branches
2. adjective: divided into two branches
How I observed this word:
I was in a meeting at work where we were discussing data entry and billing. I was unfamiliar with one type of billing and my boss explained that we were essentially sending the same info to two different agencies who claim to be working together (but we all know better). He said “it’s ridiculous how bifurcated they are”.
(And yes, this meeting was as mind-numbing as it sounds. In fact, I wrote the majority of this entry while sitting in that very meeting.)
